Large floods in NSW, Australia, during the past days have also resulted in large problems in Sydney. Bluemont is helping a flooded water treatment plant with their Hytrans Hydraulic pumps. The BoxBarriers are being used to mend a breached levee at location.
Waterboard Delfland in Holland raised the request to test various temporary flood defence systems in a simulated civil area of which the actual area of interest lies near the New Waterway (cities like Maassluis or Vlaardingen). To simulate this, objects have been located in the water basins of FloodProof Holland, consisting of a modelled curb and a wall. The request for every representative of the temporary flood defence system was to create a proper functioning system when these objects were in position. The BoxBarrier system performed properly under these conditions making use of additional elements such as wall and corner pieces.
In Bodalla, New South Wales Australia, the BoxBarrier system was used as cofferdam for culvert repair works.
In the past winter months 120m of BoxBarrier have been put in a standby position by GMB for the dike reinforcement project in Krimpen, The Netherlands, to guarantee the water safety in the area.
