A delegation from the international conference 'Deltas in Times of Climate Change' has visited FloodProof Holland. The BoxBarrier was one of the products which has been demonstrated. On the 22nd of September International Journalists from a.o. China, India, Argentina, Singapore and USA visited FloodProof Holland. The visit was planned within the context of the Conference 'Deltas in Times of Climate Change' which took place in Rotterdam that week. The journalists were very enthusiastic about the BoxBarrier system. A Delegation of this conference will visit FloodProof Holland later this week. On the 3rd of September a delegation of about one hundred men visited FloodProof Holland. The visitors were originating from a.o. Waterboards, The Dutch Army Corps of Engineers, The Dutch Army, Knowledge Institutes and various Civil Companies. The visit was part of a symposium which stressed the need for all participants to work together on an efficient application of temporary flood defence systems in future. Part of the visit was a demonstration of the BoxBarrier system. The visitors were enthusiastic about the efficiency, simplicity and the application possibilities of the BoxBarrier system.
The official reopening of FloodProof Holland took place on the 3rd of July. The event was visited by around 300 people from all over the world including the attendance of ambassadors from 14 different countries. The visitors with various backgrounds, amongst for example waterboards, municipalities, consultancies, the Dutch and US Army, had one common goal, to prevent as much damage caused by future floodings as possible and to reduce the associated human suffering.
During this reopening the BoxBarrier was demonstrated.
A delagation of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited FloodProof Holland on the 2nd of July. During this visit various (temporary) flood defence systems were presented including the BoxBarrier.
