BAM Infraconsult organized a very successful BoxBarrier Presentation In Erasmus Huis, Jakarta. Together with the Chamber of Commerce of Benelux and the Dutch Embassy, BIC presented the working of the BoxBarrier to 40 guests. The representatives of Indonesian ministries, disaster authority, waterboard, representative of DKI governor and leading real estate developers and investors witnessed the flexibility and easiness of the BoxBarrier. Feed back was positive. Guest were enthusiastic about the water retaining capabilities of BoxBarrier. The speed of installing the system impressed the local authority. BAM Infraconsult Indonesia will now do the follow up to get BoxBarrier ready and into action for next flood season 2013/2014.
The Noorderzijlvest District Water Control Board is the second Water Board to retain water with water using the BoxBarrier system. When water levels are highthe system will be deployed on embankments as an alternative to sandbags. The first 200 purchased BoxBarriers are delivered in a special designed container. The container is used for storage and makes it even more easy to transport the BoxBarriers to problematic areas when needed.

From the 13-19th of October the visit of a high level Vietnamese delegation to the Netherlands took place. Purpose of the visit is the improvement of Higher Education in Water Management in view of Climate Change in Vietnam. During a busy program the Flood Proof Holland demonstration site was visited. At this newly finished site (temporary) flood defences can be demonstrated and tested, BoxBarrier is the user of one of the testing bassins. During the visit the BoxBarrier and Green Soil Bag were demonstrated to the Vietnamese delegation and the new professor of hydraulic engineering of the TU Delft, Bas Jonkman.
The attendees showed large interest in both innovative solutions as flooding problems occur frequently in Vietnam. Delft University Paper "Delta" wrote an article on the visit (in Dutch).
