Barriers, like dikes and levees

The origin of floods can be either overflow of water bodies, such as rivers and canals or extensive rain fall in particular area. Normally rivers and canals are embedded with shores, quays or dikes, which prevent overflow. In case of high river discharges due to the melting of snow or rainfall the height of the dike or shore is not sufficient and temporary heightening of dike/shore is required to prevent flooding of the hinterland. This solution is  the most efficient, because it solves the problem at the source.

The BoxBarrier can be easily installed on all type of subsoil except on pure sand (due to scour/piping effects).  See some examples of BoxBarrier installed on a grass dike/levee.
