Flood Barrier for Vital Infrastructure

Logistics are vital for the supply of the economy, so the permanent availability of infrastructure such as airports, motorways and railways is a main priority.

In august 2010 one of the major road connections between Germany and the Netherlands, the motorway A1, was flooded due a breach in a dike of a local river. The entire motorway was flooded and all transport was stopped entirely. The BoxBarrier could have avoided delays and reduced the resulting financial damage, when it would have been installed directly after the breach. BoxBarrier50 can be installed in flowing water conditions and when it is operational the remaining water in the flooded area can be pumped away.
